ABSTRACT
The XRC Metro Trainer is an immersive XR learning environment specifically designed to train metro drivers in handling technical faults and door blockages. By leveraging XR technology, these scenarios can be practised, repeated, and assessed in a highly realistic setting. The application enhances technical understanding and provides a flexible, practice-oriented training environment.
CHALLENGE
Metro drivers regularly face the challenge of resolving disruptions in real time. Physical training resources, such as metro trains, are often unavailable due to operational demands. This makes it difficult to provide drivers with the hands-on experience needed to manage technical issues effectively.
SOLUTION
The XRC Metro Trainer offers an interactive XR platform that simulates realistic fault scenarios. Using a digital twin of a metro train, drivers can learn step by step how to identify and resolve door malfunctions. The immersive environment allows trainees to engage with technical challenges in a safe, realistic setting—practising as often as needed. The training modules are mobile and location-independent, providing maximum flexibility for learners.
