ABSTRACT
The RINPD Project (Realistic and Immersive Emergency Patient Simulation) leverages Extended Reality (XR) technology to train medical professionals in handling realistic injuries and emergency situations. Using state-of-the-art rendering techniques and highly detailed avatars, it simulates practical, real-world scenarios that significantly enhance understanding and responsiveness in medical emergencies. This innovative approach provides lifelike representations of wounds, medical conditions, and critical situations, taking clinical training to the next level.
CHALLENGE
Traditional methods for simulating injuries in medical training often fall short in conveying the complexity and urgency of real-life emergencies. Injury patterns are frequently depicted with limited detail, reducing the immersive potential of the learning experience. Furthermore, many mobile XR applications are restricted by technical limitations that impact visual fidelity and overall immersion.
SOLUTION
The RINPD project offers a cutting-edge XR-based solution that enables highly realistic visualisation of injuries and emergency scenarios. By integrating frameworks such as Character Creator and Unreal MetaHuman, it produces lifelike avatars capable of simulating complex trauma patterns. These avatars are optimised for both mobile devices and larger XR platforms, ensuring flexible deployment across a variety of training settings. Through its hyper-realistic representation, RINPD enhances medical education and empowers healthcare professionals to improve their emergency response skills.
