ABSTRACT
SkillDrill is developing an innovative Mixed Reality (MR) training framework designed to prepare civilian, military, and humanitarian personnel for international deployment. By combining digital course content with Virtual Reality (VR) and Mixed Reality (MR), the programme delivers essential skills such as strategic planning, patient care, and intercultural competence in a practical, hands-on format. This immersive training enables realistic simulations of complex crisis scenarios that can be conducted flexibly, cost-effectively, and independent of location.
CHALLENGE
Preparing for international missions requires a broad range of skills, including crisis management, decision-making, and socio-cultural awareness. Traditional training methods often fall short in replicating the complexity and dynamics of real-world crises. Large-scale, realistic field exercises are frequently associated with high costs, significant logistical demands, and potential safety risks. SkillDrill addresses these challenges with a scalable, immersive training system that effectively combines theory and practice.
SOLUTION
SkillDrill provides a comprehensive Mixed Reality framework that integrates digital learning content, VR simulations, and MR exercises. In a safe and realistic environment, participants learn to make strategic decisions, navigate cultural differences, and deliver medical interventions. This flexible training system not only enhances deployment readiness but also strengthens the efficiency and resilience of personnel operating in crisis situations.
