ABSTRACT
ScaffoldXR is an immersive XR training solution designed to teach safe working practices on scaffolding, with a strong focus on personal and team safety, as well as hazard identification. Delivered in multiple languages, the training includes three practical modules covering key aspects of working at height. The first module focuses on correct safety equipment, the second on identifying potential hazards, and the third simulates fall incidents. The realistic visual design supports effective safety training and fosters long-term understanding of safe scaffolding practices.
CHALLENGE
Simulating falls from height requires a highly realistic approach to effectively convey the importance of safety. To meet this challenge, ScaffoldXR integrates animated and cinematographic datasets to deliver authentic fall simulations. This enables risk-free training in a controlled environment, helping participants build a natural awareness of working at height and internalise safe behaviours.
SOLUTION
ScaffoldXR provides comprehensive, multilingual XR training that conveys essential safety skills for working on scaffolding. Through interactive feedback and realistic simulations, trainees learn to identify appropriate safety gear, correct errors, and choose proper anchorage points. The fall simulation in the third module vividly demonstrates the consequences of unsafe practices, promoting a deeper understanding of occupational safety at height.
