XRC HV2/HV3 Trainer

Safe Training on Electric Vehicles

  • TÜV Austria Academy

The XRC HV2/HV3 Trainer offers realistic, hands-on and interactive training for safely de-energising and servicing electric vehicles. Within a virtual reality environment, users learn how to safely shut down high-voltage systems, perform diagnostic measurements, and replace faulty components. In addition, the platform provides practical knowledge on personal protective equipment (PPE), insulation testing, and equipotential bonding measurements, ensuring a comprehensive training experience.

Working on electric vehicles involves significant risks due to high-voltage systems. Without proper training, dangerous situations may arise, posing a threat to both the technician and the vehicle. Conventional training methods often lack sufficient practical elements to effectively teach safe procedures for working on high-voltage systems, limiting the development of essential technical skills.

The XRC HV2/HV3 Trainer provides an interactive VR environment that enables users to practise working on electric vehicles in realistic workshop conditions, without any risk. Core training tasks include de-energising procedures, electrical testing, and component replacement. Advanced techniques such as insulation resistance testing and critical safety checks are also included, ensuring participants are thoroughly prepared for real-world work on high-voltage systems. The training complies with OVE guidelines and ensures both theoretical knowledge and practical skills are effectively developed.
