The XRC CNC Boot-Up Trainer is an advanced Extended Reality (XR) application that offers interactive and comprehensive training for operating CNC milling machines. By using a digital twin of a real CNC machine, the platform creates a realistic and immersive learning environment focused on safety, efficiency, and skill development. This virtual CNC training environment reduces the need for physical machines, minimises risk, and accelerates the learning curve for both beginners and experienced users. Across a range of modules, from guided sessions to examinations, users can build and deepen their knowledge step by step.
CHALLENGE
Training on CNC machines presents significant challenges due to their complexity. Traditional training methods are often time-consuming and resource-intensive, requiring direct access to expensive machinery, which limits availability for many learners. Furthermore, working with large and powerful machines involves considerable risks, particularly for inexperienced operators. These factors make it difficult to provide broad and consistent training that meets the demands of modern manufacturing.
SOLUTION
The XRC CNC Boot-Up Trainer offers a scalable solution to these challenges. The application enables users to acquire and enhance CNC skills in a safe virtual environment, without the need for direct machine contact. Through three training modes, guided learning, free practice, and examination, users are progressively trained from novice to expert. The CNC machine’s digital twin ensures realistic training by simulating real-world scenarios, thereby reducing reliance on actual machinery and significantly minimising safety risks.
