ABSTRACT
StaTrainXR addresses the challenges of conventional training for the safe operation of industrial trucks. Traditional training programmes are often linguistically demanding for non-native German speakers and tend to fall short in effectively teaching practical safety skills, especially in dealing with hazardous situations. By using Extended Reality (XR) technology, StaTrainXR enables interactive, multilingual learning of key forklift safety competencies, such as visual and functional checks and the identification of danger zones, all without physical risk. This experience-based learning approach improves safety knowledge and makes training more accessible, even for smaller companies.
CHALLENGE
Learning to safely operate forklifts can be particularly challenging for non-native speakers, especially when it comes to understanding and practising responses to critical safety incidents. Conventional training formats often lack realistic, scenario-based exercises, which limits trainees’ ability to develop the necessary skills for safe and efficient day-to-day work. StaTrainXR provides an immersive, hands-on solution that breaks down language barriers and enables risk-free practice in hazardous scenarios.
