ABSTRACT
A virtual replica of the Berlin subway environment was developed for a specialized training project. The aim was to provide emergency services with a realistic platform to train various scenarios in the complex infrastructure of the Berlin subway network. The simulation makes it possible to effectively practice specific challenges such as confined spaces, limited escape routes and interaction with trains and passengers.
CHALLENGE
The main requirement was to faithfully reproduce the characteristic features of the Berlin subway, including the architecture, track systems and typical operating processes. Particular challenges were the simulation of confined spaces, the consideration of safety aspects such as escape routes and the realistic representation of trains and passenger movements. In addition, the performance of the simulation had to be optimized to ensure a smooth training experience.
SOLUTION
A highly detailed virtual environment of the Berlin subway was created in close cooperation with technical experts. The use of advanced 3D modeling techniques and the integration of specific interaction options has resulted in a training platform that enables emergency services to practice various scenarios realistically. The simulation takes into account the special conditions of subway railroad operations and offers an effective tool for preparing for operations in this special environment.
