Decision-making support of young people for an individually coherent and goal-oriented education
The Talent Center of WKO Styria sees itself as an orientation platform that supports young people in school and training. It offers young people a decision-making aid for an individually coherent and goal-oriented education. With more than 18,000 participants in the last three years, it is necessary to expand the most modern technologies to bring the career orientation offerings to a further highest level.
At a total of 48 test stations, the abilities, talents and potential of people who are on the threshold of making a decision about training or a profession are examined.
In order to promote the experience of trying out some professions, the Talent Center is developing VR simulators together with XRCONSOLE. The first project is the car painting simulator. With this tool, young people can discover the profession of car painting in a playful, fully immersive way.
Every year, more than 6,000 students go through the talent check and are supported in their career orientation. The VR simulators support the search for the right profession. The car painting simulator in particular can subsequently be expanded into a realistic training simulator. Above all, this brings some potential for optimization in terms of efficient use of resources (cars, paint, workshops).
